Organic Skin Care Routine and Makeup

When it comes to your face, keep it as natural as possible.

My skin is usually very sensitive. So sensitive that whenever I apply any makeup product I immediately get pimples end of the day. But since I enjoy grooming, I have been thinking of natural ways to look all dressed up without using chemicals.

So ladies! Here go a few tips for you which I swear by ( by the way I have a combination skin):

Cleanser: Mix a tablespoon honey with a tablespoon of lemon, apply for 15 mins and rinse your face. This is the mildest cleanser

Toner: Either sprinkle with spray on your face or apply with cotton; rose water is an excellent toner for all skin types

Moisturiser/Primer: For lazy girls or busy women, you would need least of the products and procedures. So please use aloe vera gel, it is an excellent moisturizer and I swear by it and it also is a very good primer. Aloe vera gel works excellent for oily skin and combination skin. For extra dry skin, please use coconut oil.

Foundation/ concealer : I usually don’t use any foundation just apply sunscreen post this as I don’t believe in applying too much chemicals on skin, but if you are interested , please mix the following ingredients and make your own concealer at home:

3 tablespoons of natural pre-made lotion

2  Tablespoons non-nano zinc oxide.

1/4-1/2 tsp cocoa powder.

Natural Blush: Beetroot is very effective and harmless ingredient that gives your cheeks a natural blush color. So just rub some beetroot on your cheeks and get that natural pink flush. Now you must wonder how you can rub beetroot after applying sunscreen and foundation, right ? Well, for a night party obviously you won’t apply any sunscreen and concealer so u can just rub beetroot on your cheeks after applying moisturizer. But during day time it gets tricky, so here is how you can make your own beetroot powder blush on:

¼ cup of either organic cornstarch

¼ teaspoon of beet root powder

⅛ teaspoon or less powdered activated charcoal, optional.

Alternatively you can also rub some frozen cherry juice in a circular motion on your cheeks as a blush on.

Lipstick: Since I tend to eat my lipstick, I go all natural ingredients on my lips. So I rub some frozen blackberry juice for color on my lips to get natural color and I am good to go. If I want light pinkish color then I use frozen raspberry juice.

When at home for lip balm I use natural butter or raspberry / blackberry juice mixed in homemade butter or cream.

Eyeshadow/Eyeliner: Spirulina is a deep sea algae. It has a gorgeous green color. Spirulina powder mixed with water gives you dark green eyeshadow and also can be used as eye liner.

Kohl is something one needs to be very careful about as if it has harmful chemicals, it can damage eyes. So do this and make your own organic kajal-

Place the burning diya with castor oil in between two bowls and a plate over it

Wait for about 20 minutes and lift up the plate .Be careful of the plate as it will be really hot.

Scrap out the soot with a blunt knife or from the back side of the spoon.Take it out in a dry container and add few drops of ghee (butter) in it.

Your natural kohl/kajal is ready to use.
